How merit list would be prepared?
Delhi University Admission will be done on the basis of CUET marks which have been normalised. The merit list will be prepared with the help of equipercentile method.Soon after the declaration of CUET result, UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar said that the universities will prepare rank lists for undergraduate admissions on the basis of "normalised" scores and not percentile or "raw marks".
Equipercentile method
- Equipercentile methodology normalized marks of all the candidates are calculated using the percentile of each group of students who have appeared for the same subjects but on different days.
- So a shift that had a difficult paper and the other with a relatively easier one will all be tipped on a balanced scale for a fair evaluation.
- The CUET scorecard contains both the percentile and the normalised marks of the student in each subject. The percentiles indicates the relative performance of a student among a set of students who wrote the test in a given shift in a subject.
